MOTA-ENGIL CENTRAL EUROPE

Mota-Engil holds a distinguished position in Europe, based on a diversified business model that has allowed it to strengthen its international presence, currently placing the Group among the 30 largest European economic groups in the area of construction, with operations in 7 countries.

Mota-Engil Central Europe being a part of Mota-Engil Group began its activity in Poland in 1997. It was awarded two contracts for the construction and reconstruction of 142 bridge structures along the A4 motorway. In 1998 Mota-Engil purchased a road construction company, Krakowskie Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowych S.A. and in 2000 a bridge construction company, Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Mostów w Lubartowie Sp. z o. o. As a result of a merger between these two entities the company Mota-Engil Polska S.A. was established on December 2004. After Mota-Engil Polska S.A. was founded, the essential part of its development strategy was the expansion of activity beyond road and bridge construction to other business areas such as, among others, civil construction.

With the acquisition of two stone quarries, Mota-Engil Central Europe consolidated a stronger position in the construction sector, by becoming self-sufficient and independent from market disruptions or fluctuations.  In 2010 Mota-Engil Polska S.A. changes its name to Mota-Engil Central Europe S.A., and purchases Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowo-Mostowych w Lublinie, and soon also Eltor, specializing, among other things, in the execution of electrical power works.

Today Mota-Engil Central Europe is a strong company specializing not  only in civil construction and road and bridges areas, but also electromechanical,  environmental, and railway construction.
